Gerald V. Gerhart, 62, of Gilbertsville, PA, formerly of Green Lane, PA, New Bethlehem, PA and Dallas, Texas passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013 at his home.  

            Born in Allentown, he was the son of Marlene M. (Sieber) Gerhart Erech, wife of Saul Erech of Cape Coral, Florida and the late LeRoy W. Gerhart.

            He graduated from Boyertown High School and worked as an auto body technician at Douglasville Auto Body for 15 years and was currently employed at William Penn Auto Body in Green Lane.

            Gerald enjoyed traveling throughout the country and sleeping outdoors under the stars.  He also enjoyed restoring his 1938 Chevy and painting. Gerald was a beautiful artist. 

            Gerald will be sadly missed by his mother, step-father and brothers: Roy A. Gerhart and wife,  Blanca of Reading and Russell L. Gerhart and his wife, Leslie of Media; sisters, Marlana A., wife of Barry Wentzell of Mills and Benita M., wife of Jerry Beck of Red Hill, and a half-sister, April Gerhart of Boyertown.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

            A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with a calling hour from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. The Reverend Charles E. Romanowski will officiate.
