Frances G. Gendebien
2013-07-01

         Frances G. (Heimbach) Gendebien, 93, widow of William J. Gendebien, of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Phoebe Home in Allentown.

            Born in Pennsburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond W. and Glenna V. (Christman) Heimbach.

            Frances worked as a Customer Service Representative for 25 years at Knoll International, retiring in 1982. She was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ. Frances enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing BINGO and spending time with her grandchildren.

            Surviving are her children, Peter Gendebien and his wife, Sharon of Ogdensburg, NY and Renee, wife of Paul Zimmer of Emmaus; siblings, Joyce, wife of Robert Whiteford of Towson, MD, Raymond Heimbach and his wife, Joann of Old Zionsville, Lorraine Lamberton of Phoenix, AZ, Dorothy Hemmerle of Emmaus, Jeanette Harwick of Barto, Gordon Heimbach of East Greenville, and Larry Heimbach of East Greenville; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her 1st son, William Gendebien and a sister, Myrtle Pirnik.   

            A memorial service was held at on Monday, July 1, 2013 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, with Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens. Burial followed in the church cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.       Share memories and offer words of comfort to the family at www,mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
