Ernest S. Pierson
Ernest S. Pierson, 86, of Red Hill, passed away June 17, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Althea H. (Ruth) Pierson.
Born in Harleysville, he was a son of the late William and Anna (Spare) Pierson. Ernest served his country honorably in the Army in the Philippines during WWII.
He was a molder in area foundries, first in Lynnfield, then Royersford, and finally in East Greenville for over 30 years before retiring. Ernest was an active member of Faith Bible Fellowship in Harleysville, where he was a past elder and Sunday School teacher.
Surviving, with his wife, are children David Frank Pierson, and his wife, Bonnie, of Graterford; and Darlene Faith, wife of Paul Drace, of Skippack; three grandchildren: Wendy, wife of Paul Pomainville; Ryan Drace, and his wife, Blair; and Julie, wife of Mike Sarro; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Ernest "Butch" Paul Pierson, in 2009; and a granddaughter, Melanie Drace in 1997; and he was the last of his 11 siblings.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Ministry of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 140 Harleysville Pike, Harleysville, PA 19438.
