Two Staten Island, New York men are currently in Bucks County Prison after being recently charged with robbing the TD Bank, 49 N. West End Blvd., Quakertown back in November.
Around 7:50 p.m. Nov. 8, authorities said one of the suspects entered the bank wearing a long, orange “ZZ Top-style beard” and reportedly brandished a pistol before getting away with between $400 and $500 according to radio reports. Quakertown Police said they would not release the exact amount.
No one was injured. Police said the man fled the scene in a dark-colored Cadillac, which was later spotted by a Springfield Township officer just north of Coopersburg. The driver of the vehicle reportedly parked the car and fled, leading police to a home in the 4100 block of Fairmount Street in Upper Saucon.
After using a robot to search the home, authorities failed to locate the suspect. The car was impounded.
Quakertown Police said they arrested Anthony Greco, 33, of the 300 block of Seaver Avenue, on March 1. Joseph Scala, 32, of the 300 block of Neckar Avenue, was arrested by the Staten Island Apprehension Unit earlier this month and was extradited to Pennsylvania April 11.
Both men were charged with robbery, theft, conspiracy and related offenses.
Quakertown Police announced Monday the men were arraigned and bail was set at $250,000 for Greco and $350,000 for Scala. They were remanded to Bucks County Prison.
Both men are scheduled to appear in Quakertown District Court May 2 at 1:15 p.m. for a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Robert C. Roth.
