Mayza, Trivino Hurl Gems in College Ball
2013-03-13

Tim Mayza and Lou Trivino continued their torrid pitching pace on Saturday afternoon with outstanding efforts. Upper Perk's Mayza led Millersville baseball to a 7-1 win over Philadelphia for his fourth consecutive win as he struck out eight, walked none and lowered his ERA to 0.86.

Trivino hurled Slippery Rock to a 11-0 blanking of Shippensburg as he fanned 11 and walked none for his third consecutive shutout. Trivino was a pre-season D2 All-America selection and pitched for Pennridge Legion and the Quakertown Blazers.
Upper Perk's Devyn Kerr was 2-2 for Ursinus in a 11-7 loss to PSU-Harrisburg, while Upper Perk's Colin Weiss picked up a save in a 4-2 Widener win over Ohio Northern. Perk School's Ian Vazquez was 5-8 as Belmont Abbey swept a doubleheader from Bloomsburg.
Upper Perk's Madelyn Coffey was 3-4 with a double and triple as Messiah softball topped Arcadia, 6-1. Coffey is playing centerfield and is a transfer from Bethany.
