David C. Brown
David C. Brown, 70, husband of Sally J. (Brodzinski) Brown, of Reading, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Manor Care, Sinking Springs.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ella (Reim) Brown.
He was a graduate of Frankford High School in Philadelphia, and then worked as a machinist for 35 years at Cook’s Specialty in Green Lane.
He was a former member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville, and a member of the Philadelphia Boys Club and the Owl’s Club #1302 in East Greenville where he served as a bartender for many years. David was a semi-pro soccer player and loved playing with his grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughters, Sharon B., wife of Tom Gauger of Morgantown; Janet L., wife of Chris Schmitz, of Harleysville; Allison C., wife of Corrie Nyce, of East Greenville, Amy E., wife of Brandon Simms, of East Greenville; two sisters, Shirley Lenahan of Doylestown and Patricia Miller of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren, Andrew Nungesser, Taylor Lobaugh, Dylan Simms, Henry Schmitz, Buster Schmitz, Lincoln Simms, Tristin Nyce and Maguire Simms; and a great-grandson, Jason David Nungesser.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 1 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, with Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahns Clemens officiating.
