The Quakertown Soccer Club U11 boys travel team, QSC Young Guns, recently finished a very successful 2012 outdoor season. The Young Guns team is composed of 24 boys from the Upper Perk and Quakertown area. They practice together as one team and divide into two teams for league play. QSC Young Guns Blue competed in the Second Division North of the Inter-County Soccer League, while QSC Young Guns White competed in the Second Division West of the same league.
The Blue Team finished the season with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties, which was good enough to earn second place in their division. In addition, the Blue Team was a finalist in the Battle At HillTop earlier in the season.
QSC Young Guns White finished the season undefeated with a record of 8 wins and 2 ties, which earned them a first place finish in the West Division and finished fourth out of 24 teams at the Dillsburg Dual Shootout over Columbus Day weekend.
Both teams have balanced scoring attacks, solid defense and a tremendous group of aggressive goalkeepers. The coaching staff was happy with the boys’ hard work at practice and execution in league play. They were also delighted with the development of the boys’ skills and teamwork as the outdoor season progressed. Next up for the Young Guns is the winter indoor soccer season and various local tournaments.
