William Pershinsky, 83, of Palm, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Marian F. (Spaar) Pershinsky, celebrating 61 years of marriage on September 15, 2012.
Born in Perkiomenville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Bezernik) Pershinsky.
Bill was a 1946 graduate of Pottstown High School. He was the owner of Paul S. Spaar Inc. car dealership in Palm from 1967 to 1991 and a private pilot for 42 years. His hobbies included farming on the family farm and culinary trips to Europe.
He was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was a 45-year member of the Upper Perkiomen Rotary Club where he served as president for three years and was a frequent visitor of the Boyertown Rotary Club. He was also a board member for the Industrial Valley Bank in Philadelphia and Penn Securities Company in Allentown.
He was a loving husband and will be sadly missed by his wife, Marian. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by four brothers, John, Peter, Michael and Victor Pershinsky and two sisters, Anna Krasnuk and Helen Pershinsky.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, with the Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial followed in Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Bally. Family and friends were invited to a viewing from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville and also from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral mass.
