Charles P. Longacre Sr.
Charles P. Longacre Sr., 82, of Limerick, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Joyce) Longacre. They celebrated 31 years of marriage in June.
Born in Conshohocken, he was a son of the late Percy and Jessie (Buhler) Longacre.
He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He was a butcher and worked for the A&P Company for 45 years before retiring in 1992. He loved people, was an avid golfer, and was a dedicated Phillies and NASCAR fan.
Surviving, with his wife, is a son, Charles, and his wife, Alison, of Spinnerstown; a daughter, Teri, wife of Blaze Pecenak of New Jersey; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; a brother: Robert and his wife, Charlene, of Spinnerstown; sisters: Doris Rumley of Macungie, Phyllis Yeagle of New Hampshire, Norma wife of Ty Kratz of Louisiana, Elizabeth, wife of Caroll Maiott of the Poconos; and sisters-in-law: Barbara of Florida, and Ruth of Hatfield; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by a son: Richard C. Sheets, and brothers: Kenneth, Leroy and Theodore.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
