Clarence “Bud” Garis
2012-08-29

      Clarence E. "Bud" Garis, 85, formerly of Gilbertsville, died August 27, 2012.

        Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary (Stein) Garis.
        He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Before retiring, he was a quality control inspector for SPS Technologies, Jenkintown. Prior to that, he was a driver for the Keller’s Creamery, Harleysville, and for the Perkiomen Valley Bus Company. He also was employed previously at the Weston Transicoil Co. Trooper. He was a member of the American Legion, Post # 184, Palm.
        Surviving are children: John Garis, and his wife, Robin, of Pennsburg, Jane, wife of Clarence Purvis, of San Diego, California; siblings, Russ Garis and Caroline Richards; three grandchildren: Michael, Kristina, and Vanessa and one great-grandchild, Alivia. He was predeceased by a brother, Stewart, and sisters, Catherine Smith and Dorothy Hope.
        A service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. A viewing will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.   Interment will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park, Bethlehem.
