John Joseph Schlager

        John Joseph Schlager,74, of Pennsburg, died suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2012 at his residence. He was the loving husband for 30 years to Laraine (Kulp) Schlager.
        John was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late John J. and Carol (Defemio) Schlager.
        He was a graduate of St. Augustine High School in Brooklyn, NYC, class of 1956.
        John was self-employed as a manufacturing representative for John Schlager Sales Co. for 40-plus years. A former private pilot flying out of Pennridge Airport, he enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially to Latin America. John was also a scuba instructor at various local YMCAs.
        In addition to his wife Laraine, he is survived by: two daughters, Linda D. Schlager of Fishkill, New York and Susan M. Michalko and her husband, Nicholas, of Hopewell Junction, New York and a grandson, Nicholas John. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and a sister, Katherine.
        Memorial services are private and at the convenience of the family.
