Grace Yerk, 94, of Red Hill, died August 14, 2012. She was the widow of Elmer “Jim” Yerk.
Born in Upper Hanover Township, in an area formerly known as Haring, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Sadie (Koch) Schlicher.
She was a sales representative for Avon in the Upper Perkiomen Valley area for over 30 years until retiring in 1969. Early in life she was employed by the former Vest Factory in Pennsburg, the former Bowser Silk Mill, the former Shupe’s Restaurant, and the former Kummerer’s General Store, all of which were in Red Hill. She was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ and the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center in East Greenville.
Grace is survived by a daughter, Dolores “Dee Dee”, wife of Bobby Smith, of Pennsburg; grandchildren, Lynn, Todd, and Kyle; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; one step great-grandson; and one step great-great-granddaughter, and nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by sisters, Arlene and Glenna and a brother, Frederick.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, at the Falk Funeral Home & Crematory, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. A viewing was from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. She will be interred privately later, beside her husband, at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler.
