RICHARD J. SELL
2012-08-16

 

        Richard J. Sell, 78, of Upper Ridge Road, Pennsburg, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Audrey B. (Fillman) Sell, celebrating 55 years of marriage in April.
Born in Palm, he was the son of the late James W. and Beatrice (Haskell) Sell.
He was the owner and operator of R. J. Sell Excavating in Pennsburg for over 40 years, retiring in 2008. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a 1952 graduate of East Greenville High School.
Surviving, along with his wife, are three children, Leslie K., wife of Herb Blair of Green Lane, Tamara L. Ticknor of Arlington, TX and Richard J. Sell, II and his wife, Stephanie, of Perkiomenville, and eight grandchildren, Morgan, Corey and Cole Ticknor, Rachel and Jared Blair and Nathalie, Remy and Maggie Sell.
A funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, with the Rev. Rebecca L. Eisenhart officiating. Interment followed in Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown. Family and friends were invited to a calling time at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
