William J. “Bill” Aungst
William J. “Bill” Aungst, 77, married to Janet L. (Sterner) Snyder of Pennsburg, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at home.
Born in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Ralph E. and May (Hadley) Aungst.
Mr. Aungst was a United States Navy veteran, serving his country from 1953 to 1957. He was a quality control inspector for many companies, last retiring in 2000 from Federolf Corporation. After retirement he worked part-time at Skate Around Roller Rink where he enjoyed roller skating and working. He also volunteered as a fire policeman for the Harleysville Fire Company. He was an avid horseback rider, loved hunting and fishing, and had a love of all animals.
Surviving, along with his wife, are children: David, Karen, Keith and Wanda, wife of Francis Broskoskie; a sister, Diane Schaffer and husband, Norman; three grandchildren, Valerie, Heather and Mark; brother-in-law, Alan and wife, Judy; a sister-in-law, Donna and husband, Clair. He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph “Bud,” and two sisters, Nanette and Patricia.
A memorial service was held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Upper Milford Mennonite Church, Zionsville, with the Rev. Timothy Weaver officiating. A visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the church. Interment was private.
