Mrs. Emily (Yost) Medvetz, 87, formerly of Pennsburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo, Clarion County. She was the widow of Michael J. Medvetz, Sr. who died on December 23, 2009.
Born in Birdsboro, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Florence (Sweinhart) Yost.
Surviving are three children: Michael J. Jr., husband of Darlene K. Medvetz, of Pottstown; George R., husband of Sandra Medvetz, of Pottstown; and Mary Jane (Medvetz), wife of Robert Hodge, of New Bethlehem. She is also survived by one brother, Clarence Yost, of Linfield; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one grandson, one granddaughter and seven siblings.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Gary J. Dierolf, officiating. A viewing was held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church, 234 Penn Street, New Bethlehem, PA 16242.
