John T. Henry
John T. Henry, 82, of Oley, died July 13, 2012 at Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City.
Born in Clayton, he was a son of the late Leo and Anna (Yerger) Henry.
He was an auto mechanic for most of his life, retiring in 2004 and was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; a life member of Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association and a member of Boyertown Hook and Ladder and Bally fire companies.
Surviving are brothers, Thomas A. Henry of Pennsburg, Irvin P. “Butch” Henry and wife, Rena of Oley, and Andrew M. Henry and wife, Walli of East Greenville; sisters, Veronica, wife of Victor Diehl of East Greenville, Helen Gensel of Woodbine, MD and Pauline, wife of Donald Leister of Muncy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Luke, Leonard, Sr., Martin, Alphonsus, Maurice, Walter, Raymond, William and George.
A funeral mass was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A viewing was held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at church.
