ROBERT C. “COACH” TAYLOR
Robert C. “Coach” Taylor, 72, of North Wales, passed away at Grand View Hospital on July 3, 2012. He was a resident of the Lansdale area for over 40 years.
Born August 2, 1939 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Lewis C. and Alice (Stymiest) Taylor, and served with the United States Army.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of the Dobbins Vocational School of Philadelphia and received his degree of Industrial Education from Temple University. He was a teacher and coach in the Philadelphia school system for over 30 years.
Mr. Taylor was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in North Wales. He was grateful for his second chance at life after receiving his heart transplant in July of 2002. He enjoyed time in Sea Isle City, NJ, volunteering his efforts to the Gift of Life program, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are three children, Cari Taylor and her three sons, Nicholas, Ethan, and Aidan Schnitzenbaumer of Green Lane, Katie Taylor-Moran and her husband, Marc Moran, and their children, Elias and Ella Moran of Harleysville, and Jason R. Taylor and his wife, Alicia, and their children, Gavin, Grace, and Wyatt Taylor of Lansdale. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Taylor and William Stymiest.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend his viewing on Friday, July 6, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd., Skippack, where the funeral service and time of sharing began at 6:30 p.m. His committal service took place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, at Sandy Ridge Cemetery, 47 Sandy Ridge Rd., Stockton, NJ.
