Ronald R. Sweinhart

        Ronald R. Sweinhart, 71, of East Greenville died Monday, June 25, 2012 at St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Sarah J. (Schaffer) Sweinhart, celebrating 53 years of marriage on December 27, 2011.

        Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Nelson and Beulah (Garr) Sweinhart.
        He retired in 2002 from Hershey Foods after 16 years in the maintenance department. He also worked 13 years at Cherrydale Farms and was a mechanic at the former Heimbach and Sweatt for 14 years. 
        He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany.
        He was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council. He served many years on East Greenville Borough Planning Commission and as a volunteer driver for Open Line and was a member of the East Greenville Fire Company.
        Surviving, along with his wife, are two daughters, Wendy S., wife of Andrew Renninger of East Greenville and Susan A., wife of Terry Reinert of Green Lane; a brother, Richard Sweinhart and wife, June of East Greenville and four granddaughters, Shannon and Emily Renninger and Shelby and Kathryn Reinert. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Marjorie Sell.
        A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Dr. John A. Berntsen officiating. Burial will follow in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday morning. Offer words of comfort to the family at
