Gerry Fioriglio, of East Greenville, a member of the Upper Perkiomen Business and Professional Womens club, received the BPW/PA Individual Development Top Speaker Award at its convention in Canonsburg, June 15-16. Gerry spoke about the obstacles she has faced and how she turned those obstacles into opportunities. In her Upper Perkiomen BPW club, she has served as Past Local President for Upper Perk BPW from 2008-2010 as well Parliamentarian, Women in History Chair, Green Project Chair and Website Master. In 2010-2011 she was named Woman of the Year for Upper Perkiomen BPW. In her community, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center and the Upper Perkiomen Coalition.
She is President and owner of Family Caregivers Network, a private duty homecare company, in Pennsburg. She is a registered nurse and works as patient care advocate and geriatric care manager while overseeing six administrative staff and 75 home care aides. She frequently publishes articles and gives presentations on homecare and aging in place topics.
Gerry holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Almeda University and a nursing diploma from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Bethlehem.
The Individual Development Program is a signature program of BPW. It is a 15 module intensive course of study began in the 1960’s to provide BPW officers and members with public speaking and presentation skills along with workplace and life skills.
