Robert Henry McCullough Jr., 86, of Pennsburg, died Dec. 24 in Quakertown Center. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Waterall) McCullough.
Born in Yonkers, New York, he was a son of the late Margaret and Robert McCullough Sr.
Robert served his country honorably in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He worked as a maintenance information specialist for Sperry Univac, then Unisys in Blue Bell. He was a member of The Church of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Harleysville. He was an avid sailor, a coastguard licensed Captain and a member of Catalina 36 IA, where he was a technical writer emeritus and former Captain of Fleet 3. For many years he served his community as an Upper Salford Fire Policeman. He could fix almost anything, and while living in the Vineyards retirement community, he helped all those in need and was the Co-Chairman of the Landscape Committee.
Surviving with his wife, are son Courtney McCullough of Phoenixville; a daughter Martha McCullough of Exton; stepdaughters Wendy Schofield of East Fallowfield and Sally Wolfe of Havertown; a stepson William Schofield III of Skippack; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Robert III.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 2871 Barndt Road in Harleysville. Call at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
