Diane R. Bardman
Diane R. (Edelman) Bardman, 77, widow of Arnold F. Bardman, of Green Street, Green Lane, died Friday, Dec. 16 in the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Kathryn (Getz) Edelman.
She was a first grade teacher for the Upper Perkiomen School District teaching in the former Red Hill and Green Lane Elementary schools and then Marlborough Elementary School for more than 30 years, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown and an active volunteer for the “Art Smart” program of the Upper Perkiomen School District and Open Line. She also enjoyed traveling and socializing with her close group of friends.
Surviving are two children, Brenda B., wife of Dean M. Miller, of Green Lane and Keith A. Bardman and wife, Karen J., of Gilbertsville and four grandchildren: Derek Miller and wife, Bridgit, of Land O’Lakes, Fla.; Amanda Miller of Green Lane; and Blake and Clark Bardman of Gilbertsville.
A calling hour and memorial service were held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown with the Rev. Susan Lynch officiating. Interment followed in Frieden’s Union Cemetery.
