Robert E. Bodkin, Jr.
Robert E. Bodkin, Jr., of Sellersville, died suddenly Sunday, October 23, 2011, at his home. He was 69. He was the husband of Judith D. (Friling) Bodkin. The couple had celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on October 17, 2011.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of late Robert E. Bodkin, Sr., who was killed while serving in action during World War II, and the late Helen T. (Litchendorf) Bodkin Urffer.
Mr. Bodkin owned and operated Bob’s Auto Service on Lawn Avenue in Sellersville from 1970 until 2002.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Lori J. Sherry and her husband, James, of Coopersburg; two sons, Robert E. Bodkin III, and his wife Rebecca, of Coopersburg and William A. Bodkin, and his wife Jyoti, of Sellersville; six grandchildren: Heather Nicole and Alexzander James Sherry, Sondra Kate and Shawna Rae Bodkin, Sejal and Vishal Patel and two brothers, Russell Urffer, and his wife Mary, of Etters, and Gregory Urffer, of Sellersville.
His funeral services were held Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in Ridge Valley United Church of Christ, 905 Allentown Rd., Sellersville, where family and friends called from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Ridge Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Valley U.C.C. Raising the Roof Fund, 905 Allentown Rd., Sellersville, PA 18960.
