Robert J. Meas
2011-10-19

 

        Robert J. Meas, 64, of Spinnerstown died Sunday in the Hospice House of St. Luke’s VNA. He was the husband of the late June Pearl (Reith) Meas.
Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Daniel and Lucy (Kramer) Meas, stepson of the late Dorothy Meas.
        He graduated from Quakertown High School in 1965. He was employed for over 20 years as a custodian with the Quakertown School District before retiring.
        He was a member of West Swamp Mennonite Church, Quakertown, where he was actively involved in the tape ministry, the cemetery committee, and has served as a trustee. He was a life member of the Milford Township Fire Co. where he was an engineer, had served as a leader for the Bucks County 4-H, and was a former officer of the Milford Township Fish & Game Association.
        Surviving are his daughter, Rachel Longenbach, her husband Scott, of Northampton; grandson, Matthew; brothers: Paul and wife, Ann, Daniel and wife, Susan all of New Albany; stepbrothers: Robert, Larry, James Spencer and stepsister, Diane Sharer, all of New Albany. 
        Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at West Swamp Mennonite Church, 2501 Allentown Rd., Quakertown. Calling hours 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m, Thursday, in the church. Interment follows at West Swamp Mennonite Cemetery.
