Judith E. Shupe

Judith E. Shupe, 66, companion of Brian A. Snyder, of Hereford, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at home.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Catherine I. (Miller) and John B. Shupe, Jr.

She worked for Sodexo Food Services at Harleysville Insurance for 15 years, retiring in 2010. Prior to that she worked at American Olean Tile in Lansdale for 30 years. She also worked at Roger and Renee’s Kitchen at the Green Lane Fire Company for 26 years.

Judy attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill. She enjoyed camping in New Jersey and Maryland and going to flea markets and yard sales. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her companion; siblings: Renee, wife of Roger Thomas, of Red Hill; Ina Beebe, companion of Robert Hunsberger, of Hereford and John Shupe III and his wife, Bonnie, of Pennsburg; her companion’s daughter, Kimberly Lorimer, of Philadelphia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Betty Jane Brey and her husband, the late Roy Brey and her companion’s son, Brian W. Snyder.

A memorial service was held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with the Rev. William A. Vanderslice officiating. A calling hour for family and friends was held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment followed in Frieden’s Union Cemetery in Sumneytown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to her sister, Ina Beebe, P O Box 552, Hereford, PA 18056 to help with the funeral costs.
