CHARLES D. HOFFMAN
Charles D. Hoffman, 77, of East Greenville, Montgomery County, died September 15, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice, where he was a patient for one day. He was the husband of Mary J. (Geiger) Hoffman. They were married December 7, 1957.
Born in Hereford Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Wayne and Annie (Meitzler) Hoffman.
He worked as a foreman in maintenance at Keller’s Creamery, Harleysville, for 28 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Ray A. Master, Post #217 American Legion, Topton, and St. Peter’s Union Church, Macungie.
Surviving are his wife; sons: Randy C., husband of Linda K. (Dudley) Hoffman, Stowe, Bruce D. Hoffman, at home, David C. Hoffman, companion of Sabrina P. Green, East Greenville and Paul W., husband of Debra M. (Berryman) Hoffman, Macungie; sister, Edith (Hoffman), wife of Robert Rothrock, Macungie; brothers, Preston Hoffman and Earl Hoffman, grandchildren: Eric R., Daniel A., Heather M., Troy W., and Matthew A. Hoffman, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters in infancy and brothers Robert Hoffman and Samuel “Raymond” Hoffman.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. in St. Peter’s Union Church, 7863 St. Peter’s Road, Macungie, with the Rev. Jerel W. Gade officiating. Interment with military honors followed in St. Peter’s cemetery. Friends called Sunday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.
