James H. Shupe
James H. Shupe, 68, of Green Lane, died September 12, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Kriebel) Shupe.
Born in West Rockhill Township, he was a son of Lillian (Hunsberger) Shupe of the Frederick Community and the late George B. Shupe.
He was a 1960 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. He worked at the former Firestone in Pottstown and for Brown Printing in East Greenville then for Vertis Communications as a printing press operator and retired 2007. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War.
James was a life member of the Green Lane Fire Company and a former firefighter. He was also a former member of the Green Lane Ambulance Corp. and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown.
Surviving, with his wife and mother, are two sons, Brian, and his wife Rebecca, of Harrison Valley and Dale, and his wife Laurie, of Pennsburg; a brother, Jack, and his wife Pat, of Harleysville and two sisters, Jane, wife of Mark Walker, of Huffs Church, and Joy Benfield, of Macungie; grandchildren: Alexis, Kayla and Stephanie; his father-in-law, Samuel Kriebel, of Souderton and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his infant brother, George.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, PA 18084. All are invited to gather at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday.
