Four male members of the Upper Perkiomen YMCA swimming team delivered two quality performances at the YMCA Long Course Nationals that concluded earlier this month. Jackson Kelly, Logan Abel, Brennan Rooney, and Ryan Minnerly qualified for next year's national meets in two events.

Rooney, Minnerly, Kelly, and Abel placed 21st overall in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.85. The quartet added a 33rd-place finish in the 200 medley relay during the meet in Ocala, Fla., that concluded Aug. 1.
In the 200 free relay, the four set a new team record while qualifying for both the 2027 YMCA Short Course and Long Course National Championships. In the 200 medley relay, they qualified for the Long Course National Championships.
Six Upper Perkiomen swimmers recorded 19 personal best swims and set eight team records. Rachael Minnerly finished third in the 200 freestyle in the 15-and-under class (2:11.08). She added a 26th-place finish in the 100 freestyle (1:00.11).
Ryan Minnerly finished seventh in the 100 freestyle for the Otters. His time of 55.73 seconds in the 15 and under category established a new personal best. He also set personal bests in the 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 backstroke.
Abel delivered a 22nd-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:12.68). He set a personal best and a team record. It also counts as a qualifying time for the USA Futures Championship.
Rooney achieved 2027 YMCA Long Course National qualifying cuts in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. He also posted personal bests in the 50 free, 100 fly, 100 free, 50 back, and 50 fly
Amy Rohl ended her YMCA career by tying her existing team record in the 50 breaststroke. She finished 67th with a time of 37.41 seconds.
Rohl added a 74th-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:23.82). She added personal bests in the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
Kelly finished 65th in the 100 Backstroke (1:06.61) and 70th in the 50 backstroke (30.21 seconds).
