Michelle A. (Gaenzle) Colbaugh
2026-06-19

Michelle "Mickey" (Gaenzle) Colbaugh, 68, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Hospice Center, following a brief battle with lung cancer. Born in Allentown, raised in Hereford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Laney (Bowser) Gaenzle.

Mickey proudly served her country in the United States Air Force as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic, attaining the rank of Sergeant before retiring from the Air Force Reserves. In 1989, she had the honor of representing the Air Force Reserves as a torchbearer for the Olympic Festival in Oklahoma.

Following her military service, Mickey worked as a shuttle driver at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City and later as an IT Support Technician for Dell Computer.

A liver transplant six years ago gave Mickey the opportunity to continue enjoying the things she loved most: caring for her animals, spending time outdoors, camping, and living in her cherished home in the woods of Susquehanna County.

She is survived by her brother Rick Gaenzle of Leesport; sisters Lynn LoPresti (Peter) of Alburtis; Cindy Yaskowski (Paul) of East Greenville; Jenny Gaenzle (Ron Mathias) of Harrison Valley; as well as 10 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
