Green Lane Borough Council intends to purchase a property located at 209 Walnut St. in Green Lane that used to house the Green Lane Ambulance, the Harleysville Area EMS, and, more recently, the Freedom Valley Medical Rescue.

            Council will need to approve a general obligation note for $500,000 for the purchase of the property.  The note will enable the borough to pursue renovations to the building.  QNB will provide financing.

            The borough will convert the building, once the financing is secured and the building purchased, into a municipal building for the use of the borough. 

             Currently, the borough's administration office and meeting room are located in a small room in the Green Lane firehouse.  It is expected that facilities that accommodate persons with disabilities will be included in the renovations.

            Council considered an amendment to its sewer ordinance that would regulate non-domestic wastewater discharge.  The amendment requires a permit to discharge wastewater that comprises waste other than domestic sewage.

            The Green Lane Fire Police will assist at the Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 4.  The fire police will provide help with traffic control at the Goshenhoppen Park.  They will also clear the parking lot on Third St. and Church Roads after the fireworks.

            The Upper Perk Rotary will provide fireworks at Goshenhoppen Park beginning at 9 p.m.

            Council approved fire police protection for Marlborough Township's National Night Out at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown on August 8, from 2:45 until 6:15 p.m.

            The June 11 council meeting was held at the Isaac Smith Park.

            The Borough of Green Lane will host a blood drive on July 15 at the Green Lane Firehouse from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
