Robert A. Kemmerer
2026-05-15

Robert A. Kemmerer, of Sumneytown, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2026, at the age of 82. Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Robert R. and Harriet (Krautheim).

Kemmerer. He was a wonderful and proud husband, dad, Pop-Pop, and friend, leaving a legacy of love and kindness.

He was married for 61 years to his beloved wife, Gail (Brey) Kemmerer, and together they built a loving family and a lifetime of memories.  A 1961 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, Bob honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the United States Army, Army Medical Department.

Bob worked 43 years at Handy & Harmon, Ltd. in the Shipping and Receiving

Department. His commitment to service extended beyond his work life; Bob was a faithful member of Frieden's UCC Church in Sumneytown, a lifetime member of the Green Lane Fire Company, and a respected member of the Green Lane-Marlboro Lions Club, where he earned the prestigious Melvin Jones Award.

Bob enjoyed model trains, classic car shows, vacationing in Ocean City NJ, bus trips and exploring the farmlands of Lancaster. However, the greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family, especially his two beloved granddaughters. Each moment shared was a treasure he held dearly in his heart.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife: Gail; his children: Diane Anderson (Gregory), Mark Kemmerer (Kimberly), and Donna Kerr (Eric); twin granddaughters: Jordyn and Taylor Kemmerer; brothers: John and Stephen Kemmerer; step-grandson: Evan Kerr (Ellen); and step-great grandchildren: James and Cooper Kerr.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Bob's life Friday, June 12, 2026 at Frieden's UCC Church, 1011 Church Rd, Sumneytown, PA 18084. Visitation is from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m. followed by burial in Frieden's Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Frieden's UCC Church, www.friedens-sumney.org or the Green Lane-Marlboro Lions Club, P. O. Box 717, Green Lane, PA 18054.
