Thaddeus (Ted) D. Rutkowski, Sr
2026-04-28

Thaddeus (Ted) D. Rutkowski, Sr., formerly of Red Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 91, at St. Mary's Villa, Lansdale, where he had been residing. Born in Philadelphia, Ted was the son of the late late Stanley and Valeria Rutkowski.

A 1953 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School For Boys, Ted served his country with honor in the United States Army, from 1953 to 1955.  After his service, he dedicated many years of his life to his work as a machinist at Leeds and Northrup before retirement in 1994.

Ted was married to his beloved "Hun" Anna M. (Suder) Rutkowski, with whom he shared nearly 62 joyful years of marriage before her passing in 2021. Together, they were an example of love and devotion that touched the lives of many.

A devout Catholic, Ted was an active member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg, where he generously volunteered his time as an usher.

He found great pleasure in playing golf and was a passionate fan of all Philadelphia sports, especially his cherished Philadelphia Eagles.  His greatest pleasure was gathering with family and friends celebrating life's milestones with them; attending countless events for his children and grandchildren, and traveling with his beloved wife and friends.

He is survived by his four children: Michael Rutkowski, Stanley Rutkowski and wife, Debra, Thaddeus "Ted" Rutkowski, Jr., and Suzanne, wife of Alan Prager; and affectionately known as "Pop-Pop" to his 8 grandchildren: Dustin, Max, Madison, Josiah, Abigail, Jonathan, Samuel and Matthew; and five great-grandchildren.  Along with two step grandchildren Erika Hammond, wife of Eric; Jared Clemons, and wife Andrea; and seven step great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his granddaughter, Madison; and his brother Sigmond Rutkowski, stepbrothers Joe Ciula, John and Frank Wojtowicz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026 at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. A viewing will be held from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. with a eulogy to begin at 10:45 a.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. You may offer condolences and share memories at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Philip Neri R.C. Church.
