Sheep Shearing Day
Written by Photos by Bob Esposito
2026-03-09

The November Farm, owned by the Kemmerer family hosts a March 5 sheering event.  Approximately 35 people observed the activity on the educational farm, located in the Mill Hill sectoin of Upper Hanover.

Chris Stitzel, a fourth generation sheep sheerer from Lehigh County, wrestles a sheep onto its back before removing the wool.  Children curiously watch as stitzel performs the task, which takes less tha 10 minutes per animal.
Children peer into a pen of sheep waiting to be sheared.  Several lambs were also available to be held. Children clamor for the opportunity to hold a lamb while farm owner, Bob Kemmerer, prepares to hand the animal to one of them.

Drew Robinson feeds a bannana to a sheep after it was

sheared.
