the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association Indoor State Championship last week. He posted a time of 7.68 seconds on Sunday, March 1, at Penn State University.
Darius Reid earned a silver medal in the high jump. The junior cleared 6 feet, 7 inches.
Reid's strong showing, along with Riggins' seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash, allowed the Indians to finish fifth in the team standings. They delivered the second-most points among public high schools, according to information provided by coach Clayton Mowrer.
Riggins, who broke the school record he set last season by .12 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, posted the second-fastest time during the preliminaries (7.83 seconds) during the event's third heat.
