Richard T. Gilbert
2026-01-05

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard T. Gilbert, 74, of Red Hill, PA. Richard passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026 in Pottstown, PA.

Born in Allentown, Richard was the son of the late Willard and Jeanette (Reed) Gilbert. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend.

Richard worked hard as a laborer at Cleveland Steel Container for over 40 years and was known for his dedication to his job.

Outside of work, Richard had a passion for racing. He was an avid race fan and cherished his time spent at Grandview Speedway and enjoying NASCAR events. If he wasn't at the track, you could likely find him cheering on the Phillies or hanging out with friends at the VFW in Red Hill, where he shared countless laughs and great memories.

He leaves behind his nephew, Michael (Lisa) Kratzer; niece, Jennifer (Salvatore) Scoma; great-niece, Kaitlyn Scoma; great-nephews, Matthew Kratzer and Salvatore Scoma; sister, Carol Kratzer; and uncle, Brandon (Jayne) Reed.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and sister and brother-in-law; Susan and Leslie Stull.

The family will hold a funeral service to celebrate Richard's life, details of which will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VFW Post 5954 in Red Hill, PA. Online condolences may be offered at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
