James “Jimmy” Bartholomew
2025-12-23

James "Jimmy" Bartholomew, of Hereford, passed away at home surrounded by his family on December 22, 2025 after battling a long illness.

He was the son of the late Richard and Grace (Stevens) Bartholomew.

A 1971 graduate of Upper Perk High School, Jimmy dedicated his working life to Lehigh Valley Dairies, where he thrived in various roles before retiring after 33 years. He cherished his work, however, his most important role of all was that of a devoted family man.

He was married to Jessica Lynn (Boice) Bartholomew, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. Jimmy's love for family was evident in everything he did. He treasured the time he spent "on The Hill," reminiscing about all the memories that were created there.  He enjoyed family picnics and vacations; especially to Florida. His heart also belonged to his beloved German Shepherd, Max, who brought him immeasurable happiness and was a constant companion, riding shotgun on many car trips.

An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, Jimmy embraced the thrill of sports, visiting the casinos, attending concerts, and listening to 60-70's music. In his earlier years, he took great pride in his maroon 66 ½ Firebird convertible.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Michelle Heil (Jeremy), Donna Bartholomew, James "Jimmy" JR, and Brittany Witwer (Corey); five grandchildren, Cassidy, Corrina, Taylor, Skye and Dalton; great-grandson, Cole; siblings, Rick (Deb), Frank (Karen), Billy (Linda), Susan (Wayne), Sandy (Tom), Donna (Al), Sharon (Mario), Linda, Cheryl (Mike), Jeff (Tami) and Grace (Joe); and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a grandson, Trey Bartholomew.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.n. with a service to follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St. East Greenville, PA 18041. A burial will be held in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to Esophageal Cancer by visiting www.cancer.org.
