When Will it End
2025-12-11

People posting on social media that they intend to kill or otherwise harm ICE, law enforcement agents, National Guard members, or politicians don't seem to be in control of themselves.  But they want to be in control of everybody else.

You don't need to be in agreement with everything that's going on but to post your threats on social media for everyone to see is disturbing.  It's also disturbing to see how people react when law enforcement comes knocking on their door, telling them that they are under arrest for making the online threats.

Did you think you were being brave sharing those threats in an open forum (or private for that matter)?

Why do people advertise in any media their intention to do harm?  When confronted by authorities some will say it was only a joke.  Not funny during these times of hate and fear.  By the way, it is still a threat and could be subject to arrest.

When the authorities come to get you to answer for your threats, they are often greeted with that hate – in physical form.  But there are others, who think and act like you, that are too afraid to do what you did.  That's smart for them.

It often baffles me.  Why would you intentionally post these threats?  You're practically inviting the law to come and get you.  Or, you might be advertising that you really are sick and need help.

The posting might just be enough to push a weaker person over the edge to do a horrible act.

It just might be the final straw for that person (or even the poster).

You're not being brave posting behind a fictitious name or anonymously.

What is the purpose of your hateful, threatening social media post?  Are you trying to bring people together or incite more hate, start another civil war?

The power of your vote can be more powerful if you use it.  Even if you're forced to make the lesser of two not-so-good choices.
