LaMar Benner
2025-11-29

LaMar Benner, 83, of East Greenville, passed away, Thursday, November 27, 2025 at his home. He was the son of the late Claude and Stella (Laskoski) Benner

and shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Doris (Hess) Benner, who predeceased him in 2019.

LaMar was a graduate of Upper Perk High School and embarked on a fulfilling career, initially as a service manager at Heimbach and Sweat, before dedicating many years to Brown Printing in Maintenance, where he would eventually retire.

LaMar found joy and solace in nature, particularly at the log cabin he built and acreage he owned in New Albany, which served as a serene refuge for him and his family. There, he enjoyed hunting and created countless cherished memories with Doris, his children, and friends. His adventurous spirit also led him to the open seas, where he enjoyed deep-sea fishing trips with coworkers. In his earlier years, he had a passion for working on and racing stock cars, especially his 57' Chevy.

He is survived by his three children, Connie M. Benner the companion of Robert Lanyon of Stowe, Mark A. Benner of East Greenville and Cheryl A. wife of Michael Cressman of Barto; and four grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan and Jillian. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a grandson, Christopher and a brother, LaVerne Benner.

A viewing will be held from 11:30-12:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA. Offer sympathy at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to New Goshenhoppen UCC.
