Hazel Juanita Christman
2025-10-21

Hazel Juanita Christman, of Red Hill, passed away on October 18, 2025, at

the age of 89.

Born in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Hazel was one of eight children to the late Hallie and Agnes (Bunch) Johnson.

After graduating high school, Hazel honorably served her country in the United States Army. After her honorable discharge, she worked for the Valley Diner (Pennsburg Diner) as a waitress. She later transitioned to Cook Specialty in Green Lane, where she dedicated many years of her life before retiring.

Hazel found love and companionship with Donald H. Gery, Sr., with whom she shared 34 beautiful years until his passing in 2017. Together, they created cherished memories, including square dancing and fishing trips to Canada. She loved Sunday morning breakfasts at the Trivit, indulging in puzzles, and playing games with friends at the Upper Perkiomen Manor. Most importantly, she treasured the moments spent with her family baking cookies and making candy.

Hazel is survived by her son, Ronald Christman (late wife, Donna); grandchildren, Jason Christman (Cassandra) and Kyle Christman (girlfriend, Megan Bongiovanni); two great-granddaughters; sisters, Shirley Barnes, Mary Gibbons, Esther Mitchell, Nettie Welsh and Lorraine Buie; and sisters-in-law, Diane Christman and Susan Shoemaker. In addition to Donald, she is predeceased by her son, Norman Christman; two grandsons, Christopher and Jessie Christman; sister, Agnes Kelly; and her brother, Kenneth Johnson.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at New Goshenhoppen Cemetery, 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville, PA 18041.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home (www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com)
