Billie J. Johnson
2025-09-28

            Billie J. Johnson, of Palm, PA, passed away on Friday, September 26,

2025 at LifeQuest Nursing Center at age 87 years. He was the beloved husband of Marian (Stoltzfus) Johnson.

            He was born in West Jefferson, North Carolina, a son of the late Vada (Patrick) and Edward Johnson. Billie worked for thirty years with Boise Cascade at both its Downingtown and East Greenville plants before retiring.

            Billie was a musician who enjoyed playing his banjo at many local venues. He also enjoyed bluegrass festivals, horseraces, auctions and camping.

            In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by his children: Carolyn Breuninger, Janet (Dave) Vargo, Douglas (Brenda) Johnson, Gordon (Debbie) Johnson; siblings: Ralph (Barb) Johnson, Chester (Debbie) Johnson, Nora Lee (late Jerry) West, Betty (late Malcolm) Carey, Kathleen (Late R.G.) Hamby; 5 grandchildren: Andrew Breuninger Jr., Jeremy (Erica) Unterman, Sarah Unterman, Casey Johnson, Jessica Johnson; 1 great-grandchild: Ayden Breuninger and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Charlie, Ray, Glenn, Ernest and Fred.

            A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA from 10-11 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 .a.m.  Burial will be in Bethany E.C. Cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Research by visiting the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.
