Diana Marie Lorenzen Adams
2025-09-16

            Diana Marie Lorenzen Adams, passed away on Saturday, September 13,

2025 at her Pennsburg home at age 92.  Born in Newark, NJ on June 5, 1933 to the late Justus Karl Lorenzen who came to America from Insel Fohr, Germany and the late Theodora Redeker Lorenzen who came from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

            Diana is the mother of three children. James Patrick Ryer - 1956-1979; Kelly May Ryer Umberger and Joseph Dutill of Barto Pa; and Patricia Marie Ryer (Gary Collis) of Pennsburg, Pa.

            She has eight grandchildren: Sean Ryer 1981-2003, Tyler Hank, Felicia (Joe) Knight, Chelsea Hank, Zachary Ferketich, Carson Umberger, Cole Sacco, Mason Sacco & Zachary Collis; (Special Granddaughters, Jasmin Skye Stierly (and her baby, Everleigh), Alaina Dutill & Kara Dutill. Also great-grandchildren: Kylie Knight, Blake Knight, Brock Knight, Kai Ferketich, Harlan Handwerk, Rhyan Collis, Mila Collis, three nieces, one nephew and their families.

Diana's great love was for her children and their families. She tried to do her best to help and support them.

            Diana moved her children from NJ to Pa in 1973 where she owned and operated "The Innkeepers" in Pennsburg. In 1983 Diana moved to 343 Main St. Red Hill, Pa.

            She stayed busy and worked in many restaurants in the area as waitress, bartender, cook or dishwasher. You may know her from The Wedgewood Pub, The Family Heritage, The Teapot Diner, The White Horse Hotel, John's Plain & Fancy Diner, The Lake House Inn, Benitz, The Powderbourne and Main Street Inn. She also worked at Redner's, Hess's, Furniture Unlimited, Family Services & The Shopper's Guide.

            Diana was a member of "The Compassionate Friends" for over thirty years. A long time social member of The Red Hill VFW5954 and a volunteer Hospice worker for Grandview Hospital.

            Diana loved to write short stories, read, knit, crochet hats and paint. She loved cats and her dogs Buddy, Gus and leaves behind her new loving little dog COCO.  She loved motorcycles and riding her 1973 three wheel Harley Servicar.

            She loved to shoot pool. She joined the VFW Pool Team and was the first woman on the Bucks/Mont Pool League.

            Diana loved to travel and has been to all of the states but four. She has been three times to The Netherlands, twice to Germany and once to Mexico, France, Belguim and Australia.

            In 2007 Diana got her GED High School Diploma from the state and a diploma from the Upper Perkiomen High School. She studied at the OPEN LINE classes.

            In the Fall of 2007 Diana enrolled at Montgomery County Community College. She worked hard and graduated CUM LAUDE in December 2012. She received the first ELIZABETH YOUNG Scholarship in Literature. Diana was very proud of her education accomplishments.

            Besides her parents, her son, James and her grandson Sean, Diana was pre-deceased by her brother Justus K Lozenzen Jr. & her sister, Dorothy MacDonald.

            Diana is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

            Services will be on Saturday, September 20th at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St. East Greenville, PA 18041. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Sinking Spring Cemetery.
