William E. “Bill” McDonnell
2025-09-15

            William E. "Bill" McDonnell, 95, of Quakertown passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at The Village at Lifequest. Born on October 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Josephine (Stauffer) and Lorne McDonnell.

            He was the loving husband of the late Betty Joyce McDonnell and the late Joan Craig McDonnell.

            Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Along with his family, he owned and operated McDonnell Dairy Farm. He enjoyed collecting coins and old milk bottles, playing bingo, going to and selling his items at flea markets and bird watching. Bill was an avid Phillies fan. Above all, he cherished his time with his family.

            He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Joanne Burke and her husband, Stephen and Patricia McClure and her husband Mike Smith, Jr.; brother, Frank McDonnell (Janet Shainline); sisters, Doris Stahl and Nancy Waddell; grandchildren, Jordan Burke (Jaime Karnes) and Lauren Dmochowsky (Kevin) and great-grandchildren, Greta Anne Burke, Elise Kay Dmochowsky and Willa Bea Dmochowsky;

            Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Slack and her husband, Jack; brother, John McDonnell and his wife, Cora and brother in laws, William Stahl and Wendell Waddell.

            Services will be held privately.
