Post 184 Opens with Two Bux-Mont Wins
Written by Staff Report
2025-06-18

Perkiomen's American Legion baseball team is off to a solid start. The team posted a pair of Bux-Mont League victories last week, including one over the defending state champions.

The Indians took advantage of seven Nor-Gwyn errors to post their second straight Bux-Mont League victory. They parlayed a first-inning rally into a 14-4 victory on Thursday, June 12.
Post 184 (2-0 Bux-Mont, 3-2 overall) scored eight runs during the top of the inning, including

seven unearned runs with two outs. A two-run hit by Owen Williams capped the rally.
Brayden Adam delivered two hits and scored two runs for the team, which added two hits in the second inning to build a 10-0 lead. Benjamin Godshall scored two runs and drove in one.
Jackson Long added two hits. Kyle Mazzie drove in three runs without a hit for Post 184, which stole 12 bases. Cole Pierce and Mazzie each swiped a team-high three bases.

Long earned the mound victory, working six innings. He permitted two earned runs on eight hits and three walks.
Jonathan Lewis pitched a scoreless seventh inning. He retired the side, striking out one.

Last week, the Indians took advantage of three Quakertown errors and relied on solid pitching by the Godshall brothers to post a 3-2 league victory.

Post 184 showed it was capable of winning a close game. Pierce drove in the decisive run in the top of the fifth inning on Wednesday, June 11, at Memorial Park Stadium.

Ben Godshall tossed two shutout innings in relief to secure the victory over the two-time defending state champions. He did not allow a baserunner.

Starting pitcher Brandon Godshall scattered six hits over five innings. He permitted single runs in the third and fifth innings.

Cooper Natisin absorbed the mound loss for the Blue Jays despite tossing a complete game. He did not allow an earned run while permitting only five base runners and striking out seven.

Pierce delivered two hits for Perkiomen, which scored all of its runs with two outs. Up 2-1, it mounted a two-out rally off Natisin. Jordin Dice delivered a single, moved to second and scored on Pierce's hit to right field.

The team scored two runs in the third inning on a pair of infield errors to open the scoring. Owen Williams, who worked a walk and moved into scoring position on a miscue, scored on Dice's double to right. Dice came home on Adam's misplayed ground ball.

Quakertown loaded the bases in the bottom of the third on a walk, a hit batsman and an infield hit with one out. Brandon Godshall forced in a run when he hit Caleb Everitt with a pitch.

However, the Post 184 pitcher worked out of trouble. He struck out Gunnar Rahn and induced Natisin to fly out.

Rahn delivered two hits and Caleb Everitt drove in both runs for the Blue Jays, who pulled within 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Gerry Stanizola delivered a one-out double and scored on Everitt's hit.

Inclement weather forced the cancellation of a doubleheader at Pennridge over the weekend. The Indians are slated to resume their schedule at home on Wednesday against Doylestown.
