Thomas C. Jacobs
2025-06-03

Thomas Charles Jacobs, 86, of Boyertown, PA, passed away on June 1, 2025.

Born on October 26, 1938, in Luzerne, PA, he was a devoted husband to Frances Marley Jacobs and a loving father to Theresa Jacobs Besecker, Thomas M Jacobs, Carolyn Jacobs Dubble and Mary Ellen Jacobs Maloney.

One of Tom's biggest accomplishments came when he served 6 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a Plank Owner (part of the original crew) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence CVA62. He came on board as a blue shirt and was eventually promoted to a yellow shirt on the flight deck. Tom worked at various jobs in the greater area as a manufacturing engineer. This while completing his bachelor's degree in business at La Salle College through nine years of night school. While a member of St. Philip Neri Church, Tom was a charter member of their Knights of Columbus original counsel.

He is survived by his children; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his awesome sister Eleanor Jacobs Crowley, his cool brother-in-law Thomas Breslin, his sister-in-law Patricia Marley, many loving nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and extended family members who will all miss his sometimes-grouchy sense of humor. He would often say "What? I don't know what you're talking about." He is preceded in death by his wife whom he lovingly called Franie and his granddaughter Cecilia Besecker.

The rest of the family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the entire Maloney family for the tireless love, kindness, patience and especially food bestowed upon 'Pop Pop" over the last 4 years and beyond. We know Dad appreciated it beyond measure. Special thanks to Dad's furry friend Gracie Maloney. They had a very special bond and spent many hours happily annoying each other.

All are invited to gather from 10:30 a.m. to the beginning of a Funeral Mass on Friday, June 6th at 11:30 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St., Bally, PA 19503. Feel free to wear your Eagles or Phillies gear to the funeral, Thomas would like that.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Center in Scranton, PA. by going to www.stjosephscenter.org or mail the donation to: St. Joseph's Center Foundation, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton PA  18509.
