Michael Joseph Fasolka
2025-05-09

Michael Joseph Fasolka, 75, of Pennsburg, PA, died May 7, 2025, at home

after a brief illness. He was born in Bloomsburg, PA, on October 8, 1949, the first child of Geraldine and Michael Fasolka.

He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School in Shamokin, PA, graduating in 1967. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bloomsburg University and later attained an advanced chemistry certification. Michael was a true researcher at heart, and made significant contributions to the advancement of industrial processes during his tenure with Air Products and Chemicals in Trexlertown, PA.

His work was characterized by innovation and a dedication to solving complex problems, and led to a scholarly publication, as well as the development of several patents issued in his name.

In his retirement years, he worked in sales for Dampman's True Value where he particularly enjoyed serving customers. Michael also started his own business, Kaleidoscope Art, where he created websites and digital graphics for his clients.

Michael had a love of learning, and an insatiable curiosity. He was someone who knew something about everything and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and life experiences with his family and friends. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh with his quick wit. Michael was exceedingly generous to his children and grandchildren. His joy was spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife, children, and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Fasolka, who stuck by his side in good and tough times, and who cared for him until his passing. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. He is also survived by a son, Michael John Fasolka, and his wife, Jill Conover, of Rockville, MD; daughter Sarah Fasolka-Erk and her husband, David, of Mount Joy, PA; their three children; Grace Erk-Magargee and her husband, Timothy, of King of Prussia, PA; Richard Erk of Mount Joy, PA; and Claire Erk-Becker and her husband, Seán, of Columba, PA. Michael is survived by two sisters, Mary Karen Fasolka, of Kulpmont, PA, and her daughter, Megan Fasolka, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Sister Mary Francine Fasolka, IHM, of Scranton, PA., as well as numerous cousins, and his best friend, Carl Soderberg of Spinnerstown, PA. Michael is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Geraldine Fasolka (2004 and 2020 respectively), and his sister, Elizabeth Ann Fasolka (2018).

A private family service will be held to honor Michael's life. Visit his "Book of Memories" at falkfuneralhomes.com.
