Bonnie E. Cassel
2025-05-05

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie E. Cassel, age 83, who departed this life peacefully on May 3, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Lock Haven, PA, to the late Charles and Geraldine (Glace) Emery, Bonnie was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandma, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her.

A 1959 graduate of Lock Haven High School, Bonnie held various positions but spent several years doing data entry at Knoll, Inc. in East Greenville before her retirement.

In 1971, Bonnie married the love of her life, Larry J. Cassel, and together they celebrated a beautiful 53 years of marriage, filled with love. Known for her unwavering devotion to her family, Bonnie cherished her role as a mother to her twins, Jason Cassel and Marsha Fritz (Dave) and took immense joy in being a grandma to Evan Cassel and Brielle Fritz. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Gamber and brother, Charles "Chuck" Emery, Jr. Her family was the center of her universe.

An involved member of the Indian Creek Church of the Brethren, Bonnie found joy in community and faith. She was a proud member of the Boyertown Mothers of Twins Club and loved volunteering in the gift shop at Peter Becker Retirement Community.

In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, walking, and cheering for her favorite Philadelphia teams, the Eagles and Phillies. Bonnie also had a special love for traveling, often taking trips back to her cherished "mountains" in Lock Haven, where she found peace and beauty.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial to follow in Indian Creek Cemetery. , Harleysville. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at funeral home.
