Russell E. Johnston
2025-04-01

            Russell E. Johnston, 90, formerly of Perkiomenville, PA, passed away on March 23, 2025 at Banner University hospital in Tucson, AZ.  He was the son of the

late George R. Johnston and Eleanor Mae (Myers) of New Castle, PA.

            Russell graduated from Ne-CA high school in 1952 and served for 2 years in the USMC where he earned a GI bill towards tuition at Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne, IN. 

            Russell graduated with an electrical engineering degree in 1956 before marrying Charlotte (Fretz) in 1960.  Russell retired in Sunnyvale, CA before relocating to Perkiomenville in 2002.  Russell continued to work part-time at Sweetwater Golf Course until he was 88 and was also an active member of Green Lane-Marlborough Lions Club. 

            Russell is survived by 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Russell made pre-arrangements with Neptune Society and the family will gather in Moss Landing, CA this summer to charter a boat and sprinkle his ashes in the Pacific Ocean.
