Barry was a dedicated teacher for 35 years at Upper Perkiomen School District, impacting countless students with his passion for education.

A proud graduate of East Stroudsburg University, Barry's love for sports was evident in his roles as Assistant Football Coach from 1962 to 1981, and as Head Baseball Coach from 1967 to 1974, where he truly made his mark. His commitment to youth baseball was remarkable; he was instrumental in developing the Junior Legion Program and played a key role in reviving and coaching the Legion Baseball program.

In addition to his teaching and coaching, Barry was actively involved in his community. He was a valued member of the Upper Perk Senior Center, the East Greenville Fire Company, and the Owls and Hereford Gun Club, where he also served as Treasurer. He was a former member of both the Pennsylvania and National Education Associations, showcasing his dedication to the teaching profession and his community.

Barry is survived by his cherished wife, Norma (Fetterman) Slemmer, step-children: Kelly Gonzalez, Perry Specht and Kim Althouse and his cousins Becky Davidowski, Ethel Soffa, Andrew Kriebel, Robert Graber, Willard Graber, Stanford Graber, Ellen Cutler, Kathy Misner, Martin Kriebel, Mary Ellen Rhile, Neil Brunner, and Nancy Mundy, and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Rose (Muhr) Slemmer.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA 18070 with services following at 11a.m. Burial will be private.
