Born in East Greenville, Pennsylvania, to the late Raymond and Glenna (Christman) Heimbach, Dorothy lived a life of faith in God and of love, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Dorothy graduated with high honors from East Greenville High School in 1949, where she was a proud drum majorette in the school band. Pursuing her passion for education, she attended Kutztown State College, majoring in Elementary Education during the fall of 1949. Dorothy's early career included working as a secretary at I.B. Heimbach and Son and also refining her poise and presence at the Philadelphia Modeling and Charm School. Her commitment to excellence and attention to detail also saw her serve as a bookkeeper at Perkiomen National Bank and in the advertising department at Hess Brothers.
In September 1958, Dorothy married the love of her life, Robert G. "Bob" Hemmerle. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter and companionship, until Robert went to be with the Lord in November 2003. As a dedicated homemaker, she created a nurturing and loving home, faithfully raising her children in the Christian faith. Dorothy's love for and generosity toward her family were unmatched, and she took immense joy in their accomplishments and happiness.
A beloved church member at Living Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dorothy was blessed by the friendship, support and prayers of this dear community of faith.
