Faye Sylvia Hoffman (nee Royer), 85, of Harleysville, PA, passed away
peacefully on January 4, 2025, with both her daughter and son by her side.
Born in Schwenksville, PA, Faye was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel Royer. She lived in Lansdale and North Wales, where she dedicated herself to raising a loving family.
Faye took great pride in her children, Jill Hoffman Pearson, of Kennett Square, PA, and Brett Hoffman, of Montgomeryville, PA. She was deeply committed to supporting their personal growth and achievements, including helping them both attain First Class and Eagle Scout honors. Faye was also instrumental in cultivating their entrepreneurial spirit, assisting with their paper routes as pre-teens, and teaching them the values of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance.
Once her children graduated school, Faye pursued her own career, working in the manufacturing sector in various capacities. Her professional success was a reflection of her strong work ethic and determination, qualities that she instilled in her children and continued to demonstrate throughout her life.
A proud and devoted grandmother, Faye adored her grandson, Ryan Pearson, of Foster City, CA. She was immensely proud to be part of his life and cherished every moment of their special bond.
Faye's passions extended far beyond her family. She had a deep love for gardening, traveling, camping, cooking, theater, and the orchestra, and she found great joy in staying connected with her high school classmates by organizing reunions for the Perkiomen Valley High School Class of '57. Her interest in family history led her to become an avid researcher of her family's genealogy. She transcribed her great, great grandfather's (Daniel B. Royer) diary and "A Glimpse of the Past" (from 1904) which is still being published in the weekly Town and Country newspaper. In correspondence with others, she was able to trace her lineage as a descendant of Martin Royer who came to America in 1732.
Throughout her life, Faye's compassionate heart led her to support numerous philanthropic organizations and individuals in need.
In her later years, Faye became a cherished member of the Peter Becker Community, where she was an active participant in the life of the community until her passing. Her kindness, generosity, sharp wit and grace will be remembered by all who knew her.
Faye is survived by her beloved children, Jill and Brett, her grandson Ryan, and cousin Sister Bonita Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister Dawn (nee Royer) Westcott of Damariscotta ME.
A private burial for Faye at Schwenksville Cemetery will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
May Faye's legacy of love, strength, and compassion continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
