The inauguration is over, a new president has been sworn in and the administration will soon be completed. Decisions by the United States Senate are still in progress over some appointments.

Some people are excited, some people are devastated. Some folks will support the administration, some will fight anything the administration does, no matter what.

Some people will not let politics interfere with their friendships or family interactions. Some want nothing to do with friends or family members who disagree with them. Hate will actually determine some future relationships with people whose only fault was not hating the people you hate.

When was the last time you agreed with every decision a government leader made?
I am sure that I never agreed with all the decisions made by a government leader. When I agreed, I applauded the decision. When I disagreed I searched for the degree and sincerity of my position. Then I tried to reason with the decision that was made and measure it against my thoughts on the issue. After research and reflection, if I felt my position was selfish or self-serving and didn't take into consideration how the decision would be a disservice to, or affect, others I could acquiesce and admit that I was wrong.
However, after all consideration, if I felt that a bad decision was made by a government leader I could peacefully protest in many different ways. I could write letters, engage other like-minded folks to sign a petition, and so on. Or I could wait until the next election and use the power of my voice and my vote.
